The new version van be downloaded here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Gcoderipper\/gcoderipper.html#download\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Gcoderipper\/gcoderipper.html#download\">G-Code Ripper Download<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Here are the steps to create a new g-code file with the toolpaths modified to include backlash compensation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First open a g-code file in G-Code Ripper.<\/li>\n<li>Next, select &#8220;Backlash&#8221; from the G-Code Operations list in the lower left corner of the main window.<\/li>\n<li>Then, set the backlash values in the upper left corner of the window.<\/li>\n<li>Finally save the modified g-code by clicking the &#8220;Save G-Code &#8211; Backlash&#8221; button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"811\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ripper_backlash_annotate-1024x811.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-986\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ripper_backlash_annotate-1024x811.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ripper_backlash_annotate-300x238.png 300w, https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ripper_backlash_annotate-768x608.png 768w, https:\/\/www.scorchworks.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ripper_backlash_annotate.png 1223w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The saved g-code will have additional moves incorporated right into the toolpath that will compensate for the backlash that was entered.  You can load the new g-code into your favorite back plotting program or back into g-code ripper to see what the new toolpath looks like. (Warning it may look ugly) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below are two images of an Etch-a-Sketch screen (yes, I CNC&#8217;d and Etch-A-Sketch) The left image shows the result of running the g-code on an Etch-A-Sketch without using backlash compensation. and the image on the right shows the result with backlash compensation generated with G-Code-Ripper.
